Creator of Manor Lords Emphasizes His Role as an Independent Developer

Manor Lords has been capturing attention across the strategy gaming community, and one of its most notable points is that it is chiefly the product of a single game creator. Greg Styczeń has found himself in the spotlight, needing to clarify his use of the term 'solo developer' after comments from a peer in the industry.

While it's true that Styczeń hasn't brought the expansive world of Manor Lords to life in complete isolation, his work has received financial support from enthusiasts on Patreon and a cash infusion from Epic Games, and there are indeed several additional contributors listed in the game's acknowledgments.

Despite this, Styczeń upholds his status as a solo developer. He explains, "I understand the critique and where it's coming from, but perhaps there's a missed point in recognizing that if I step away, the project halts – no more Manor Lords. Conversely, if he steps down from his company, the operations continue as usual."
